On may 13 2022 Santa Cruz High School held their first car show since the pandemic. The turnout included but was not limited to a twin turbo ls c1 corvette appraised at $400,000, a 1919 Maxwell two 65 el Caminos and a 56 ford thunderbird. There is truly nothing like the lines of a a vintage or antique car. The simplicity of the of the design makes for great photos. Shot on Fujifilm Fujicolor 200 with my Pentax ME.  

Deutschland at its finest. The Exacta Varex IIb is an slr that hails from Dresden East Germany dating back to 1963. The company was founded in 1912 and was discontinued in the 1970s due to the economic collapse. The robust clunk of its curtain shutter and its two pound heft inspire confidence when shooting.  One downside is the sheer complexity of the, lets say, German engineering; setting the shutter speed to slower speeds is confounding and requires the use of both bulb mode and a second spring loaded dial. This unique camera does include some oddities such as a film slicing knife and a film mechanism that winds from right to left. In terms of Image quality the 50mm Exaktar kit lens included with mine yields great portraits and still life due to its buttery soft falloff. My particular example was graciously donated by Robin Hunicke. Shot on kodak Gold 200.  

A step back in time to the 1920s, 30s, and 50s. These absolutely mint automobiles are owned by the Martindale family in Santa Cruz. Many of their cars have won awards at the pebble beach concours d'elegance. All photos were taken on a Nikon d60 with the kit 18 to 35mm lens.
